The most versatile keyboards in the world!

Custom designed Maltron keyboards are the most versatile keyboards in the world, catering to the needs of the everyday user wanting to minimise the risk of Repetitive Strain Injury, to people who have minimal or no use of their upper limbs.

The conditions the Maltron keyboard caters for include:

  • Strokes
  • Amputations
  • Paralysis
  • Tendonitis
  • Repetitive Strain Injury
  • Work Related Upper Limb Disorders
The following guide is based on research and will help you to decide which keyboard is best for you.
Single handed keyboards

Perfect for amputations, paralysis, stroke, or upper limb disorders such as carpal tunnel syndrome. Left and right hand models are available and they have been carefully designed to reduce strain and take into account the limited number of keys that can be accessed quickly and comfortably to facilitate touch typing, with Push-On/Push-Off buttons for keys such as Shift and Control.

Dual handed keyboards

Perfect for anyone with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Tendonitis, Repetitive Strain Injury or anyone wishing to prevent such conditions. Unlike most commonly available keyboards, Maltron keyboards are specifically designed to facilitate easy movement of the hands, wrists and fingers. They help eliminate wrist twist and minimise pronation and allow for easy access of keys by conforming to the length of each finger.

Single digit/Head or mouth stick keyboards

Perfect for amputations or paralysis. Single digit or head/mouth keyboards can either be operated with a finger or stick depending on the level of hand movement possible. They have a shape that matches natural head movements and the key arrangement minimises finger or stick activity with Push-On/Push-Off keys for Shift, Control and Alt. See the picture below for a demonstration of the use of such a keyboard.
